ABOUT DR. APRIL M KIMBLE

The Perspective Behind the Work.

My work sits at the intersection of human behavior, leadership, and organizational systems.

Across psychology, healthcare, business, and military leadership, I have spent my career understanding people within the environments that shape how they think, relate, decide, and perform.

That perspective now informs how I work with leaders—helping them better understand themselves, the people around them, and the dynamics influencing their leadership.

A CAREER ACROSS PEOPLE AND SYSTEMS

Different Roles. A Common Thread.

My career has rarely followed a single path. I began in healthcare, moved into military leadership, behavioral health, business, and organizational psychology—each experience offering a different view of how people function within complex systems.

Across those roles, I kept encountering the same question: What happens when the demands placed on people begin to exceed the resources available to them?

That question became central to my doctoral research examining burnout and moral injury among active-duty U.S. Army behavioral health officers. The research reinforced something I had observed throughout my career: individual performance and well-being cannot always be understood—or improved—without examining the organizational conditions surrounding the individual.

That perspective continues to shape my work with leaders today. I look beyond individual behavior to the relationships, demands, expectations, and systems influencing how a leader experiences and responds to the environment around them.

The person. The relationships. The system.
